Corrections
Uncovering South Africa's Stories, Amplifying African Voices
At Voice Africa Daily, we are committed to accuracy and transparency in all our reporting. We understand that errors can occur despite our rigorous editorial processes, and we take responsibility for correcting them promptly and visibly.
How to Report an Error
Readers who identify inaccuracies, factual errors, or misleading information in our articles are encouraged to contact our Corrections Desk immediately. Reports can be submitted via email to [email protected], through our online corrections form on our website, or by calling our newsroom at +27 (0)11 XXX XXXX during business hours (Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm SAST).
When reporting an error, please include the article URL or headline, the date of publication, and a detailed description of the inaccuracy. This information helps our team locate and verify the issue quickly.
Review and Verification Process
Upon receipt, all corrections are logged and assigned to our Editorial Standards team. We verify the reported error against our original sources, reporter notes, and any available documentation. This process typically takes 24 to 48 hours. If the error is confirmed, we work with the original reporter and editor to understand how it occurred and determine the appropriate correction.
Correction Publication
Confirmed corrections are published prominently at the top of the affected article with a clear explanation of what was corrected and when. We do not alter the original article text without noting the change. For significant errors affecting the article's central claims, we may publish a separate correction notice on our homepage and social media channels. Corrections remain permanently visible to maintain transparency and accountability.
Our Commitment
We view the corrections process as integral to maintaining reader trust. Every correction represents an opportunity to improve our standards and prevent similar errors. Our team regularly reviews corrections to identify patterns and strengthen our verification procedures. We believe that acknowledging and correcting errors demonstrates our commitment to truthful journalism and respect for our readers.
